The German Sixth Army, facing the Cavalry Corps, is ordered onto the defensive, while the Fourth Army is ordered to attack the Allied line from Menin to the coast.
On the same day the Cavalry Corps makes contact with the 3rd Cavalry Division south of Ypres, closing the last gap in the Allied lines.
