The German XXV Reserve Corps, isolated at Lodz, attacks north, hitting the Russian 6th Siberian Division. The Siberians hold out until 24 November, but are unable to prevent the Germans from breaking out.
War at Sea
A British fleet including the Duncan class battleships HMS Exmouth and HMS Russell, bombard Zeebrugge. Dutch reports suggest that parts of six U-boats were destroyed and the port made temporarily unusable.
