Russian Fifth Army, coming from the south, reaches Lodz and attacks the German XXV Reserve Corps. The Lovitch Force, from the Russian First Army, attacks from the north. The German corps is now isolated and in danger of being destroyed.
RNAS carries out a raid on the Zeppelin sheds at Freidrichshafen (using the Avro 504). A lucky strike damages the gas plant.
Admiral von Spee's squadron reaches St Quentin Bay in the Gulf of Penas, remaining there until 26 November to take on coal.
