War at Sea
The Wickes class destroyer USS Gamble (DD-123) is commissioned. She entered service too late for the First World War, but that was present at Pearl Harbor and served as a minelayer during the Second World War.
The Wickes class destroyer USS Yarnall (DD-143) is commissioned. She served with the Neutrality Patrol then joined the Royal Navy for convoy escort duties, before ending up as a source of spare parts for the Soviet Navy
