Third day of the pursuit to Mons, the final named British battle of the war on the Western Front

Meuse-Argonne Offensive

French Fourth Army and American I Corps both close in on Sedan. The Sedan-Metz railway line comes under artillery fire. The American 1st Division is ordered to pause in order to allow the French to occupy Sedan first.

Politics

Wilhelm Groener, who has replaced Ludendorrf as effective head of the German Army, informs Max von Baden, the official head of the government, that he needs to seek an immediate armistice
