Diplomacy

The Armistice comes into force at 11am on the 11th of the 11th, officially ending the fighting.

Western Front

Crown Prince Rupprecht of Bavaria resigns from command of his Army Group.

End of the pursuit to Mons, the final named British battle on the Western Front. The Canadians enter Mons just before the armistice comes into effect.

End of the Meuse-Argonne Offensive, the French and American offensive on the southern flank of the final Allied offensive.

War at Sea

The Wickes class destroyer USS Evans (DD-78) is commissioned. She enters US service just after the First World War, briefly takes part in the Neutrality Patrol and then enters British service as HMS Mansfield

The Wickes class destroyer USS Champlin (DD-104) is commissioned. She spends almost all of her short career operating as a training ship in the reserve, before being sunk during experiments in 1936
