War at Sea
Start of Action of Heligoland Bight (16-17 November) - British attempt to catch German auxiliary cruisers on the outer edge of their own minefield. The attack ends when the leading British ships run into German battleships.
The British force includes the 1st Light Cruiser Squadron (with HMS Galatea, HMS Inconstant), 1st Battle Cruiser Squadron (with HMS New Zealand).
