Battle of Junction Station

The battle of Junction Station saw the British force the Turks away from the railway line linking Jerusalem to the north. The line ran west from Jerusalem to Junction Station, where it joined the main north-south line. The British decided to attack to the west of the station and outflank the Turkish right. The Turks held on at first, but a cavalry charge at El Mughar began to break their line and by the end of the day the Turks had been forced out of most of their line west of the station.

Action of El Mughar

Part of the Battle of Junction Station. The village of El Mughar is captured after a day of fighting that includes a succesful cavalry charge. Junction Station falls on the following day.
