91st Brigade replaces the cavalry in High Wood and attempts to force the Germans out of the northern part of the wood. This is the last serious attack on Bazentine Ridge during this phase of the battle but fighting continues at Delville Wood.
First attack on the German positions in Delville Wood, at the far right of the area under attack in the Battle of Bazentine Ridge. The South African Brigade captures all but the north-western corner of the wood and fights off a German counterattack.
