Serbian Front

After the Serbian victory at Kolubra the Austrians have to retreat across the Danube. On 15 December the Serbs are able to liberate their capital.

Yorkshire Coast Raid

The Germans decide to risk raiding the Yorkshire coast while three British battlecruisers are away searching for von Spee in the South Atlantic. The British were aware of the German plan, and sent the 2nd Battle Squadron to join the battlecruiser in an attempt to intercept the Germans.

On 15 December the two British forces meet, while the German High Seas Fleet makes its rendezvous and heads towards the coast. On 16 December the Germans hit Hartlepool, Whitby and Scarborough and then manage to escape from the British trap.
