After the Austrians capture Belgrade the Serbs retreat into the mountains where they receive supplies from France. On 3 December they launch a counterattack against the Austrians, who are now trapped against the flooded River Kolubra. By 9 December the Austrians have been forced to retreat back across the Danube and on 15 December the Serbs are able to liberate Belgrade.
