Official end of the battle of the Transloy Ridges. Fighting drags on after this, but the weather eventually breaks and the battle of the Somme officially ends on 18 November.
Four cruisers (including HMAS Melbourne) are sent to try and find the German High Seas Fleet, then making their last sortie of 1916.
