Battle of Verdun

German troops attack through the Chambitoux ravine towards the village of Fleury. Part of the 52nd Division is pushed back, at Thiaumont farm falls to the Germans. Two days later two of the surviving officers, Sous-lieutenants Herduin and Milan are shot without trial. After the war their relatives receive compensation.
