8. Keith to Secretary of Admiralty
Vlictor, at the Nore,
June 4, 1803.
Sir, I have received your letter of yesterday’s date signifying their Lordships’ direction that I should order Commodore Sir Sidney Smith to proceed in H.M.S. Antelope for the purpose of relieving Rear-Admiral Thornborough off Helvoet, and to direct the latter to return to the Downs . . . and I request that you will inform their Lordships that the Rear-Admiral and Commodore shall be forthwith instructed accordingly. I have &c.
