Despite good planning the second battle of Bullecourt (from 3 May) ends in failure and the overall Arras offensive come to an end. The British focus moves north to Ypres and the infamous third battle of Ypres.
An Austrian counterattack around Mt. Kuk and Vodice Ridge fails.
War at Sea
The second batch of US destroyers (Tucker (DD-57), Rowan (DD-64), Cassin (DD-43), Ericsson (DD-56), Winslow (DD-53), and Jacob Jones (DD-61))to cross the Atlantic reach their new base at Queenstown, Ireland.
