Here we see cadets at the rigging and instruction shop at No.1 School of Military Aeronautics, Reading. The nearest aircraft is a Sopwith Camel, but the cadets were provided with a range of aircraft to work on. At the time this facility was part of Oxford University, but it later became part of the University of Reading. On these aircraft the role of the rigger was essential, and as we can see they were working all over the aircraft.
