Railway Yard at Juvisy before raid, 18 April 1944
Here we see the major railway yard at Juvisy, near Paris, before it was hit by a mix of Lancasters and Halifaxes from Bomber Command on the night of 18 April 1944. The yard and the town were both badly damaged in the raid, part of the attack on French communications before the start of Operation Overlord.
