Here we see an Italian trawler attempting to tow the Acheron class destoyer HMS Phoenix to safety off Albania on 14 May 1918. The Pheonix had been torpedoed by the Austro-Hungarian submarine U-27 early in the day, and sank at 13.10 despite attempts by this trawler, and by HMAS Warrego to tow her to safety in Albania.
