War at Sea

The Wickes class destroyer USS Badger (DD-126) is launched at Camden, New Jersey. She enters service too late for the First World War, and spends most of the Second World War operating in the Atlantic, carrying out a mix of escort and anti-submarine warfare duties

The Wickes class destroyer USS Philip (DD-76) is commissioned. She enters service just before the end of the First World War, and sees more service in the Second World War as HMS Lancaster.
