15 July 1918
The Champagne-Marne Offensive was the last of Ludendorff's five major offensives that came close to breaking the Allied lines in the summer of 1918. The offensive started on 15 July with attacks to the west and east of Reims. The attack east of Reims failed but the attack to the west did rather better. The offensive ended on 18 July after the Allies launched their own counterattack, the Aisne-Marne Offensive
