Start of a raid into the Skagerrak led by Rear-Admiral Pakenham (HMAS Australia), conducted by eight light cruisers and twenty destroyers and supported by the 2nd Battle Cruiser Squadron. The aim is to find the German fishing fleet, but the four-day raid is a failure.
