In June August von Mackensen is promoted to Field Marshal for his success at Gorlice-Tarnow and the capture of Przemysl and Lemberg. On 4 July he is given command of Army Group Mackensen, with the German 11th and Bug Armies and Austro-Hungarian Fourth Army.
