Felix Graf von Bothmer is given command of the German South Army, a largely Austro-Hungarian army that performs well over the next two years.

War at Sea

The British monitors HMS Mersey and HMS Severn make their first attack on the trapped German commerce raider SMS Konigsberg. The Germans have pre-registered a number of positions, and the attack is repulsed.
