Canopus class battleship HMS Goliath is recalled, having been sent from the Dardanelles to the Suez Canal on the previous day to help against an expected Turkish attack. French warships take her place.

Dardanelles

SMS Goeben, now in Turkish service, is sighted at the entrance to the Dardanelles, and shelled by HMS Lord Nelson .
