Crusader Castles of the Teutonic Knights (1), S.R. Turnbull

Crusader Castles of the Teutonic Knights (1), S.R. Turnbull

AD 1230-1466: The Red Brick Castles of Prussia 1230-1466

This is a beautifully illustrated book even by Osprey standards packed full of some of the best colour plates I have seen with 8 pages of full colour plates showing mainly aerial views of fortresses with some siege scenes and cut away sections. In addition it is packed full of colour and black and white photographs, maps, illustrations etc.

It is well written by Dr Stephen Turnbull normally know for his work on Japan, but this is a fascinating area of military construction which has been long over looked by many western text books.
