Hawker Hunter Mark 76

The Hawker Hunter Mark 76 was the designation given to ten aircraft ordered by Abu Dhabi in 1969 as the RAF withdrew from the Middle East. Seven of the aircraft were ex RAF F.Mk.4s updated to F.G.A.9 standard, while the remaining three were updated to F.R.10 standard. All ten aircraft were delivered by January 1971, as were two T.Mark 77 trainers. The aircraft were used by Abu Dhabi until 1975 when Sultan Qaboos gave them to Jordan. Later in the same year Jordan passed them on to Oman.
