The Fiat CR.2 was a version of the CR.1 biplane fighter that was powered by an Armstrong Siddeley Lynx radial engine. The CR.1 was a sesquiplane fighter with a smaller upper and larger lower wing, the reverse of the standard arrangement, and powered by a 300hp Hispano-Suiza inline engine. The CR.2, which was tested in 1928, used the less powerful 200hp Lynx radial engine. The experiment does not appear to have been a success. Inline engines were used in the CR.20 and CR.32 and radial engines didn't made a come-back until the CR.42, produced a decade after the CR.2
