Cruiser Tank A32

The Cruiser Tank A32 was the third of a series of Rolls-Royce designs for versions of the Cromwell tank with heavier armour. In this case the A32 would have carried the same armour as the A22 Churchill infantry tank, giving it a weight of 34.5 tons. It would have had new suspension to deal with the increase in weight. The A32 was abandoned at the paper stage. It followed on from the 28 ton A28 and the 32 ton A31. A final design, the A35, would have been even heavier, at 36 tons.
