The Albatros J.II was an improved version of the Albatros J.I ground attack aircraft. The J.I used the wings of the Albatros C.XII combined with a new fuselage with a low nose and armed with two downward mounted fixed machine guns. The cockpit was protected by 5mm of armour, but the nose was un-armoured. The J.II was very similar, but also had armour protection for the nose, thus protecting the engine. Only about four J.IIs were produced.
