Battle of Flodden, 9 September 1513

Battle at Flodden Edge in Northumberland in which the invading Scots, led by James IV were defeated by the English, led by Thomas Howard, the seventy year old earl of Surrey. James was killed in the battle, and the Scots lost at least a third of their army of 20000-30000 men.
