The battle of Lake Ladoga of 7 September 1702 was the second of two small boat actions that forced the Swedes to withdraw from Lake Ladoga (Great Northern War). The Swedes had a squadron of eight ships on the lake - three brigantines, three galleys and two boats. On 26 June that squadron had been attacked at the south of the lake and forced to withdraw. On 7 September it was attacked again, near to Kexholm, by a force of Russian soldiers carried on thirty boats. As in the early battle, the Swedish ships suffered some damage, but escaped destruction. After this second battle the Swedish commander Mummers withdrew his ships to Viborg on the Gulf of Finland.
