The 83rd Fighter Group was a training unit that served with the First Air Force.

The group was constituted on 18 September 1943 and activated on 25 September 1943. It was equipped with the P-47, and was allocated to the First Air Force, in the US North-East. The group served as a replacement training unit until it was disbanded on 10 April 1944.
