No. 460 Squadron was a R.A.A.F Squadron operating under R.A.F. command, indicated by the squadron number in the 400s.

No 460 Squadron was formed from C Flight of No. 458 Squadron on 15 November 1941. It used the Wellington and then the Lancaster on operations. At one point the squadron began to convert to the Halifax, but never became operational on that aircraft.
