Lt D.W. Gay's War Effort - Raids 36 and 37

This page from Lt D.W. Gay's 'War Effort' cover raids 36 and 37

Raid 36 was an attack on enemy troop concentrations to the north-west of Argenta on 14 April 1945, carried out to support the final Eighth Army campaign in Italy. This time the result was a lemon, as the bombs over-shot.

Raid 37 was an attack on enemy troops near Medicina on 15 April 1945, carried out to support the 2nd New Zealand Division of the 8th Army and was a 'good Apple'.

Many thanks to Martin Hampton, the son in law of Lt. Gay, for sending us this material. These pages come from Gay's own private notebook which began with similar infomation to his flight log, but became more detailed, and also included a number of interesting items that had been pasted in.
