Tone class cruiser at battle of Santz Cruz
Here we see one of the two Tone class cruisers at the battle of the Santa Cruz Islands (26 October 1942), an indecisive carrier battle during the Guadalcanal campaign. The Tone class cruisers carried all four of their main turrets foreward, leaving the rear deck to be used by reconnaissance aircraft.
