Takao class cruiser Chokai
Here we see the Takao class heavy cruiser Chokai. The Takao class had a much larger bridge structure than the previous Nachi class, and a distinctive arrangement of funnels. Three of the four ships in the class were sunk during the battle of Leyte Gulf - the Chokai was sunk by dive bombers and destroyers during the battle of Samar (25 October 1944).
