Home Defence Sopwith 1 1/2 Strutter

Here we see the home defence version of the Sopwith 1 1/2 Strutter, which had the forward cockpit faired over, the pilot moved to the rear cockpit, and a pair of upward firing Lewis guns installed at the back of the upper wing. This allowed the aircraf to fire the various types of incendiary ammo developed for use against airships and which didn't work well with synchronising gear
