Fabric covered Sopwith Snail

Here we see the first prototype of the Sopwith 8F.1 Snail, which had a conventional fuselage with a wood frame and fabric covering and slight negative stagger on the wings. By the time this aircraft, C4284, had been built, attention had moved to a version of the snail with a monocoque fuselage.
