Shokaku under attack at Coral Sea, 8 May 1942
This picture shows the Japanese carrier Shokaku under attack on 8 May 1942, during the battle of the Coral Sea. The picture was taken from a Douglas TBD Devastator from the USS Yorktown. The Shokaku was damaged during the battle, and as a result missed the battle of Midway.
