Recruiting at Horse Guards Parade, 1914
Recruiting soon became something of a spectator event in 1914. Here we see a small crowd watching recruiting on Horse Guards Parade, with the Horse Guards building in the background. For many years Horse Guards had been the HQ of the British Army but by 1914 it was the base of the London District and the Household Cavalry.
