Plans of Mississippi Class Pre-Dreadnought Battleships

Plans of Mississippi Class Pre-Dreadnought Battleships
These plans show the Mississippi class of pre-dreadnought battleships, an attempt to produce a lighter version of the previous Vermont class. They carried the same mix of 12in, 8in and 7in guns, with four 12in guns in twin turrets fore and aft and eight 8in guns in twin turrets, two on each side. The number of 7in guns was reduced from twelve to eight, all carried in a battery on the same level as the 12in guns. The 8in guns were carried one deck higher. Both had been sold to Greece by the time these plans were published in 1915.
