Plans of Delaware Class Dreadnought Battleships
These plans show the Delaware class of dreadnoughts, the second class of American dreadnoughts and a great improvement on the earlier South Carolina class. They were more heavily armed, with ten 12in guns, although the last two turrets were on the same level, so they could fire a ten gun broadside, but only four guns to the rear. The biggest change was the introduction of turbine engines, which boosted their speed to 21 knots, up 3 knots compared to the South Carolinas.
