New Mexico class battleship bombardments Okinawa
Here we see one of the three New Mexico class battleships during the bombardment of Okinawa. The class can be identified by the combination of the clipper bow and the light triangular patch just behind the bow, showing a break in the sides of the ship. All three members of the class took part in the bombardment.
