Merchant Ship on Russian Convoy Duty
Here we see a merchant ship steaming through heavy seas on its way to the Soviet Union during one of the wartime Russian convoys. For once the picture really does give you some idea of the ferocity of these seas, with the ship climbing up an impressive swell.
