Here we see all three prototypes of the Kawasaki Ki-60, with the third prototype on the left, first in the centre and second on the right. The Ki-60 was similar in concept to the fighters dominating European skies when it was developed (in particular the Bf-109, as it used a Japanese version of the same engine). However it was rejected in favour of lighter fighters that were slower but more manoeuvrable and satisfied Japanese pilots.
