HMS Whiting on a speed trial
Here we see the Palmer 30-knot destroyer HMS Whiting during a high speed trial in which she reached 31.9 knots. The Victorian style livery shows that this picture was probably taken after she had been accepted by the Navy. In 1912 she became a C Class Destroyer, the group for 30-knot destroyers with three funnels.
