HMS Swift from the right
Here we see Admiral Fisher's 'super-destroyer' HMS Swift, an expensive ship with twice the displacement of the Beagle class that followed her and four times that of the earlier River class. The extra size and cost wasn't justified, and she was even significantly larger than the flotilla leaders produced. It would be twenty years before the Royal Navy produced destroyers of a similar size, the second Tribal Class.
