Mountbatton on HMS Empress, 1945

Here we see Admiral Lord Louis Mountbatton addressing the crew of the Ruler Class escort carrier HMS Empress during a visit to the ship in July 1945. Painted on the side of the island above and to the right of Mountbatton is a record of the ship's operations to that date.
