Firing a 12-pounder gun, HMAS Huon
Here we see the crew of the Australian River class destroyer HMS Huon firing one of their QF 12-pounder 12 cwt guns. On the left are two men in gas masks and flash protectors. The man on the left is holding one of the next shells to be used. In the foreground are two empty cases from shells that have already been fired. This picture was taken at some point between October 1917 and August 1918 when she was serving in the Adriatic.
