Heinkel He 111 H-8 cable cutter: side view
The Heinkel He 111 H-8 carried a heavy cable cutting devise designed to reduce the threat from British barrage balloons. Only thirty were produced, ten of which were lost, partly because the heavy cable cutter dramatically reduced the aircraft's performance.
